Feelings That People Have

Alyssa: I like my MOM. Thank you for doing the journal. I can't wait to read your blog!!!!!

Howcloseis: Kids need families that won't give up. Parents that know how to help them learn to recognize their feelings and how to be a normal kid and live in a family. Don't let them live in bad foster homes and with bad parents. They need therapy with an AWESOME therapist like Miss. Kristy. I know 3 ideas, karate chop, tapping, rubbing, and that is all.

All people have feelings. What are some feelings?? I will help you, OK I know 1, how about glad. Can you figure it out???

I felt mad because I had to eat breakfast.
I didn't feel sad.
I didn't feel scared.
I felt glad almost all day long.

I am grateful for:
1. AWESOME MOM!!
2. Books
3. DVD on Native American History
4. Me
5. Dictionary

The things I like about myself are:
1. Doing my journal
2. A NORMAL KID!!
3. Working hard.

Thank you for the comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

J

In the class I teach, we do a lesson all about feelings. I give the kids a handout with all these feelings and funny faces to go with them.

Glad is a great feeling!

I don't know if your mom would let you watch Dances With Wolves or not, but maybe she could let you watch parts of it. (It is pretty violent in some places) And if you do get to watch it, the Native people on the show speak the language my people speak, and I even know a couple of them. My girls got to sleep in one of the teepees from that movie too. It was cool!

Feelings are so important and being able to identify them is a great skill. Being grateful for yourself is so awesome. Plenty of grownups have trouble with this. Have a great weekend!

Do you know your blog is the first one I read every day? I'm also going get my new daughter to read it. She's had some bad things happen in her life, too. Now she's living with me and I'm trying really hard to be an awesome mom like yours. You've really helped me understand how kids like you and my daughter feel inside, and it lets me know ways to help her. Thank you for writing and sharing your life. You are very brave.

I read your post to a grown up friend this week. She is slowly learning to cope with her more extreme moodchanges and she was telling me how all other people were normal. So I used you to tell her some people need to work a bit harder but how good you were doing. She was very inspired!
