The Social Workers

Stephanie: I used to do those things to but not anymore. My birthparents did all those things TOO!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for being BRAVE!!!!!! and telling me your story.

SW took away my therapists because they didn't believe in RAD!!!! That hurt alot. They never told any of my homes that I had RAD!!!!!! They never showed them how to help me. If my good FM hadn't told my Mom that I had RAD she wouldn't have known. My Mom got me the help I needed. Bad SW need to go to JAIL for hurting kids and not finding them good homes. They make me MAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I would let Puddin BITE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And other DOGS BITE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kids need one home!!!!! THEY DO NOT WANT TO BE A FOSTER KID!!!!! THEY WANT TO BE A REAL KID WITH REAL PARENTS!!!!

Miss. Kristina is a nice, nice SW though!!!

BE NICE TO YOUR MOM TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sincerely,

J

P.S. HI, Miss Chrissi!! I am glad you're PROUD of me!!!!!

J, you are so brave to talk about the bad things that happened to you at your age. Sometimes people get to be very old and still can't talk about them.

The more you are able to talk about them with SAFE people, the less power your past will have over you. You are well on your way to FREEDOM and being a normal little kid. I am so glad your awesome Mom found you. {{{{{{{{J}}}}}}}}}}}}

J,
Thank you so much for being so open. I know it's hard sometimes, and you've got some tough things to say, but you are doing a great job.

My little girl is 12. We have had a relationship with her since she was 8. She is having a very hard time in the group home she is in. Lately, she isn't sure if she wants a family or wants to be adopted. What kinds of things would you tell her? What kinds of things do you think she is afraid of? How can I help?

J's mom, do you have any hints?

Thank you again,

Hannah

I agree with you J, our former Social Workers before the adoption don't believe that 4 of my kids have RAD. They think it's my fault the kids do what they do or they don't believe me.

Also, Social Workers let me and my kids down, for over 10 years I called and tried to get my kids help when they were abused and the social workers did nothing until my baby niece was killed.

I wish there were more good social workers. I guess they just don't understand. It hurts when they don't help- kids or parents or people who care enough to try and get help.

Thank you for sharing.

Hi J,
I think you are about the bravest, strongest girl around. I'm so happy you and your awesome mom found each other. I know from what she writes on her blog how proud she is of you. I
Thanks again for telling us your story. I have a little girl who I am adopting from Foster Care named Elizabeth. I want to make sure she always feels safe and loved. You have reminded me how important that is for kids.
Keep up the great, great work!

J, you are such a sweet girl.

There ARE bad social workers out there, and it breaks my heart. No kid should be in the kind of place you were in. I wish I could have helped all the kids in Utah to be safe and brave.

Hi, precious girl

I certainly *will* be nice to my Mom today.

I'm glad you can see that Miss Kristina is a nice SW, and I've had bad SWs and good SWs too. I hope you are surrounded by good people forever after this.

Dear J my name is Martin and I am Stephanie's brother and I want to be on to tell you how I am acting. I am arguing and telling lies to my Mother. Right now I don't want to get better because mad feels good and rad feels better than love right now.I am not working at all on my heart right now. I am hurting my Mother with mad, arguing, and even just talking. I am being disrespectful right now. I don't realize that I have such a great Mom I hope I do soon. And I want to be working on my heart soon to.

I have been reading your blog for a week or so now and I am very impressed. Your mom is also very smart. She is right when she says your past does not define you. There is an old saying (not really sure who said it) that goes like this:

"Our lives are not determined by what happens to us, but how we react to what happens, not by what life brings us, but by the attitude we bring to life. A positive attitude causes a chain reaction of positive thoughts, events, and outcomes. It is a catalyst that creates extraordinary results."

You, my dear, are extraordinary.

I agree! Bad social workers hurt kids by not taking care of them. My dog doesn't bite people, but if he did, I like to imagine that would be a good thing for him to do! (Not for real, but in my head, for the SW hurting you) Keep fighting, be angry when you need to be, know you are loved.

Hello,

I found you blog from Anne and I just had to comment. You have such a beautiful and brave heart! You are an inspiration and huge source of knowledge for many adoptive parents out there. Thanks for being so brave and sharing your voice!

J,
I found your mom's blog this morning through links and links and links. I have now read your blog. I'm impressed with your courage! It is hard to write about mad, sad, bad things, but you are doing a great job. I hope you understand how rare it is to hear how it is from the KID! Parents, SWs, therapists, and even strangers have lots to say about foster care, RAD, attachment and stuff like that. It is important to hear from kids, too.
I have an adopted son. He wants me to tell you that, and he wants a sister.
Keep up the good work! I'm putting you on my list of things to read.
